The Role

Join the Enterprise Computing team to build automation, monitoring, and alerting solutions that strengthen the firm’s data protection capabilities. You’ll partner with operations teams to identify reliability issues, automate fixes, enhance observability, and accelerate service recovery-working across both modern and legacy technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop automation and observability solutions for data protection systems.

  • Improve alerting, monitoring, and service recovery capabilities.


  • Work closely with global operations teams to resolve pain points.

  • Troubleshoot complex issues beyond standard documentation.

  • Translate ambiguous technical requirements into clear engineering outcomes.



Required Skills

  • Strong Python (incl. PyKit); bonus: Perl, PowerShell

  • Git, CI/CD (Jenkins), REST APIs

  • Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Cortex


  • Ansible

  • Excellent debugging, analytical thinking, and communication skills

  • Ability to clarify unclear requirements and work effectively in global teams


Desirable Skills


  • Backup/data protection (e.g., Veritas NetBackup)



  • Data deduplication knowledge

  • UNIX/Windows Server administration

  • SAN/NAS/S3 storage

  • Kubernetes or OpenShift


  • Additional Perl experience


£420-500 a day
12 month contract
