Anout the Role
VBeyond is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with solid Perl expertise to join an Agile development team focused on building and enhancing healthcare applications. The ideal candidate will contribute to the design, development, debugging, and deployment of software components while collaborating closely with product and technology teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain high-quality software aligned with Agile practices
- Understand and troubleshoot existing systems; propose improvements for scalability
- Deliver tested, production-ready code and resolve bugs as needed
- Engage in sprint activities, including stand-ups, planning, and retrospectives
- Ensure code meets story definitions of done (DoD), including testing, documentation, and review
- Collaborate across product and tech teams to meet business objectives
Required Skills
- 7+ years of development experience
- Proficiency in Perl and familiarity with Agile methodologies
- Experience with SQL/Oracle and Unix/Linux environments
- Exposure to microservices architecture
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and relational databases
- Experience in application monitoring and production support
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, especially using GitLab
- Experience with additional languages such as Java
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Relevant technical certifications are a plus
