Cantina bots are lifelike, social entities capable of interacting wherever humans go online. Users can recreate themselves, imagine new characters, or choose from thousands of existing bots. Bots provide creators with scalable, personalized content experiences alongside seamless group chat in voice, video, and text.
About the Role
Cantina is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to lead the design, deployment, and optimization of AWS cloud infrastructure using Terraform. This role will collaborate with product and engineering teams to create scalable, secure, and cost-efficient systems, while establishing automation, monitoring, security, and governance best practices. The position offers high visibility, ownership, and the chance to shape the company’s DevOps strategy.
Responsibilities
- Lead container-based microservices and serverless applications (ECS, EC2, Lambda) using Terraform and other automation tools
- Build and manage CI/CD pipelines (CircleCI, GitHub Actions, Docker) to automate deployments for applications, platforms, and infrastructure
- Monitor systems, implement alerts, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency
- Conduct security audits and ensure compliance with AWS best practices
- Enforce cloud governance policies, including IAM, resource tagging, and cost management
- Develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans for critical infrastructure
- Collaborate with stakeholders to assess requirements, recommend tools, and deliver scalable, reliable, and secure solutions
- Lead projects of moderate complexity and provide technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and mentorship across the company
Requirements
- BS or higher in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering
- Strong experience in setting up, maintaining, and automating CI/CD systems
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform
- Experience managing and customizing monitoring tools such as Datadog and Sumo Logic for dashboards, alerts, and metrics
- Fluency with source control systems (GitHub, GitLab, Git) and build tools (CircleCI, GitHub Actions, Docker)
- Proficient with AWS services including Redis, OpenSearch, Aurora PostgreSQL, Redshift, MongoDB, EC2, ECS
- Skilled in scripting with Python, Bash, Perl and automating infrastructure
- Proven ability to take ownership, lead projects, and influence engineering teams
