About the Role
A remote opportunity is open for a Senior PHP/Perl Developer to play a pivotal role in enhancing and maintaining a high-performance domain registrar platform. This role is ideal for experienced backend developers who possess deep expertise in both PHP and Perl, and who are familiar with the unique requirements of the domain name industry. Work is conducted remotely within the Australasia time zone, offering flexibility and collaboration within a globally distributed team.
Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, and maintain scalable PHP and Perl applications to support registrar operations
- Integrate and manage APIs from multiple domain registries and third-party services
- Optimize backend code for performance, reliability, and scalability
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex system issues
- Implement robust security protocols and monitor application vulnerabilities
- Collaborate with internal teams across product, QA, and infrastructure to deliver seamless features
- Continuously stay informed about trends and advancements in the domain name ecosystem and backend technologies
Required Skills
- Proficiency in both PHP and Perl programming languages
- Solid knowledge of object-oriented programming and established design patterns
- Experience with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Strong database skills using MySQL or PostgreSQL
- Understanding of DNS protocols, infrastructure, and standards
- Hands-on experience implementing secure coding practices
- Excellent debugging and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting
