About the Role
This position calls for a highly skilled Software Engineer with a strong background in cyber operations, vulnerability research, and system exploitation. The role blends software development with offensive and defensive cyber capabilities, requiring creativity, deep technical knowledge, and the ability to work across the full software lifecycle. Candidates will engage in advanced reverse engineering, exploit development, and the creation of production-grade applications in support of national security missions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct vulnerability research with a focus on OCO (Offensive Cyber Operations) and DCO (Defensive Cyber Operations)
- Perform software engineering tasks from requirements gathering to deployment
- Utilize reverse engineering, kernel debugging, and x86/x64 assembly in assessments
- Design, develop, test, debug, and document software applications
- Implement improvements in software development processes and testing practices
- Develop unit and integration tests, and produce detailed technical documentation
- Collaborate with stakeholders and technical teams to ensure quality software delivery
- Identify and exploit vulnerabilities using both standard and custom tooling
Required Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
- High school diploma and 7+ years of software development experience or
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and 3+ years of experience - Proficiency in C/C++ software development
- Experience in x86/x64 assembly, reverse engineering, kernel debugging, and protocol stacks
- Proven background in exploit development
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with tools like IDA Pro, GDB, WinDbg, Immunity/OllyDbg
- Familiarity with malware analysis and mitigation strategies
- Strong understanding of Windows and Linux OS internals and APIs
- Ability to analyze obfuscated, packed shellcode and algorithms
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Perl
- Skilled in network and host analysis to detect anomalies or vulnerabilities
- Proven experience creating detailed reports and technical briefings
