Role Overview
This role focuses on guiding customers through technical support and product adoption throughout the customer journey—including pre-sales, onboarding, and renewals. You’ll assess clients’ IT operations environments regularly and offer tailored recommendations to help them get the most value from Datadog.
Acting as a customer advocate, you’ll understand their goals and use cases, then suggest process improvements, feature adoption, and configuration changes. You’ll also join customer business reviews and work closely with product, engineering, and technical teams to share insights and help shape future enhancements. A key part of the role is continuously refining best practices around product adoption and customer success.
Key Responsibilities:

Guide customers through technical support and product usage across all engagement phases

Analyze their IT setup and recommend ways to optimize with Datadog

Represent customer interests by suggesting tools and features aligned with their goals

Join monthly/quarterly business reviews to track success and identify new needs

Work with internal teams to influence product development

Improve and update best practices for customer onboarding and engagement
Requirements:

Strong technical background and hands-on IT Operations experience

Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

Comfortable using scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, Ruby, Perl, Go, PHP, etc.)

Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

Able to travel up to 30% of the time

Prior experience as a Technical Account Manager (TAM) with mid-market or enterprise clients

Experience with Datadog or other cloud monitoring platforms
